How the Alexander Technique Helps
I am happy to tell you that I have been back -ache free for more than a month now. I do the semi supine exercise twice daily and enjoy it very much. I feel it has done me a whole lot of good. I also take every opportunity to stand still and give directions to my neck to be free. Leela Krishnamohan, Homemaker
I think you gave me the necessary experience and also the necessary thoughts and ideas behind the work.
One of my problems was a stiff neck that happened every 3 months and lasted for about a week. I am happy to say that since my lessons I’ve had this just once and it lasted only a day. Michael Wirmberger, musician
I have been at the wheel more than usual, and I’ve been able to regularly remind myself to free up the neck and the shoulder so that I can use my back to do what otherwise my wrist does alone. And I’ve been able to feel that extra strength in my arm, which feels odd because I am not doing anything more, but the clay just listens to me better :). Aditi Rao, potter, poet
Every once in a while something you said will come into my mind and I stand taller for a minute – and I know the difference, which is huge. Anjali Puri, Homemaker
I use AT frequently, and it’s changed my life and how I relate to pain. I have a chronic back condition, and AT helps me understand and cope with it better. Arkaja Singh
The Alexander Technique has certainly taught me a new way to look at my problem, allowing me to realize that its not the chair, the furniture or the laptop that is causing my pain. All I really need to zero down the problem is a good full length mirror!
You’ve taught me to slow things down, take a deep breath and look at the problem again. I can release from within now, when I realize that I have to. Having a moment to myself can make a lot of difference. Arun Srinivasan
